When you tell people you are going to visit our famous city, people will automatically say, ‘Have you packed your shell suit?’, ‘Got your curly wig?’, ‘Practise the catchphrase, “Calm Down, Calm Down”’ and since being the European Capital of Culture, that all stolen cars are now standing on books instead of bricks? But we are not ones to get uptight, as we actually find the lines quite funny, especially as we are also the undisputed Capital of Comedy! Putting the stereotypical reactions to one side, us scouser’s are a warm friendly bunch and that’s the welcome you’ll get when you arrive at Woodcote House Hotel

The Wirral, Chester & Liverpool are amazing places to visit, there really is so much to do and see, beyond the fact we are world renowned for the Beatles and our passion for football. We have a choice of seaside towns, as we are fortunate that our coast is both accessible and safe, or perhaps go for a ramble in the Wirral Country Park or meander around the grounds of Speke Hall where the Victorian gardens sit in splendour by the banks of the River Mersey. And there’s another trip for you, go on one of the Mersey ferries; you could even have a sing song!

If you enjoy SHOP! SHOP! SHOPPING! Then there are bargains at Cheshire Oaks, Quirky shops in Chester & the ultimate shopping experience at the new Liverpool One. Once you have bought your gorgeous outfits why not see the horses under starter’s orders and join the stylish race goers and have a flutter. Study the horses form, or if your anything like me choose the name of the horse that takes your fancy, I know it’s scientific! Watch the horses as they are persuaded into line, with every finger and toe crossed, your heart is racing, you literally can not breath willing Mr Ed to make that first fence and keeping their jockey on their back – yes its emotional stuff! It’s a fabulous day and exciting day out with a party atmosphere which is second to none.

Fancy swinging your way around the Golf course, the Wirral has 14 for you to choose from and we have an affiliation with Eastham Golf Club, which is only a few minutes from the hotel.
There really is so much to see and do on our doorstop and this is only a small snipit, there really is a lot more!
